Washing machine care: (at least once of month).
The following will ensure that your machine is operating at peak performance
Washing machine: go online and type in your make and model and this will provide the necessary instructions on keeping your washing machine clean.
For example: Fisher & Paykel top loader, you can unscrew the middle piece and then wash the drum underneath. If you have a heavy worker in the household and are regularly washing heavily dirty clothes, this base of the drum will be extremely dirty and will stop your washing machine from doing a good job.
Front loaders, spray and clean the inside and outside of the glass. Then wipe out the inside of the rubber ring around the door frame area. This is where all the dirt collects.
Wash out the lingering soap products in the detergent draw.
Dryers:
Every time I use it I double check the lint collector is clean. If not, you risk it catching fire.
It is important that your dryer is ventilated out of the laundry and otherwise, close the door into the house and open a window or door as you don’t want to full the air with the tiny particulars that you would then breath in.
Washing is coming out feeling hard.
You water may be “hard” and therefore makes all washed items feel like cardboard and be full of wrinkles. Resolve this by using a water softener in the washing machine. If you have vapour, use this cycle on your washing and hang out immediately. Shake the clothes items with a good flick before you hand them on the line, this helps bring the fabric back into shape. Put the clothes items in the clothes dryer for 10 mintues and this will help make them soft again. Get your water tested as if it is need of a softener added it can be done with equipment where it enters the property.
What is hard water:?
Iron: put fresh water into the iron each time and empty it after using it. Check that the base of the iron does not have burn marks or rust on it. If so clean by doing…..
Some steam iron models include a self-cleaning system, sometimes called an anti-calc system, that helps rid the iron of scale build-up. If your iron has this function, run it every two weeks or as often as the manufacturer specifies. To extend the life of your steam iron, clean it regularly and store it carefully.
Shaving cream
